Horses born in or after 2018 must be nominated to show in any Premier Sires class. Horses born in or before 2017 must be nominated to show in the Breeders Futurity classes but may show in all other Premier Sires classes as long as the sire of the horse is currently enrolled in Premier Sires.
ELIGIBILITY: In order for a foal to be nominated to Premier Sires, the foal’s sire must be currently enrolled in the program. If a stallion is currently enrolled, their foals of any age may be nominated regardless of breeding or foaling year. Once a stallion discontinues their enrollment, nominated foals remain eligible to show, but new foals may no longer be nominated regardless of breeding or foaling year.
DIVISIONS: When nominating a foal you must select which division of the Breeders Futurity you want to show in: Western, Hunt Seat, Color Breed Western or Color Breed Hunt Seat. A horse may be nominated to more than one division of the Breeders Futurity but must pay the listed fee per division. The horse may only show in the Breeders Futurity classes in the division(s) to which they are nominated. The selected division only applies to the Breeders Futurity; a nominated horse may show in any Premier Sires Limited Series, Sweepstakes or Trail classes regardless of the division they have been nominated to.
CERTIFICATE OF ENROLLMENT: Once the nomination form has been received and validated, and a copy of the breed registration papers have been forwarded to Premier Sires, a certificate of enrollment will be mailed to the nominator. Foals born in or after 2018 must have a certificate of enrollment in the name of the current owner in order to show in any Premier Sires class.
CHANGING DIVISIONS: A nominated horse may change divisions prior to showing in the Breeders Futurity for the first time. Once the horse has been shown in a Breeders Futurity class, that horse is no longer eligible to change divisions.
